Discover Inner Mongolia (Nei Menggu), home of Genghis Khan (1162-1227), the great leader of the Mongolians. Historically, rulers of the world’s largest nation, Mongolians were renowned as nomadic tribes famous for the military skills. The Mongolian empire rose in its peak throughout the 13th century, ruling all of China and stretching to the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Today, the Inner Mongolia Automonous Region is China’s widest province (in latutide) sharing its borders with the Republic of Mongolia and Russia. It has approximately 24 million inhabitants with ethnic groups including the Mongolian, Daur, Orogen, Han, Korean and Manchus.
Inner Mongolia is the perfect destination for the adventurous. Learn about Mongolian life as you visit a herdmen’s home and family, try activities such horse and camel riding, Mongolian wrestling and archery. In the evening, enjoy the traditional Mongolian singing and dancing performance. The tour also includes a visit to the unforgettable deserts on the western parts of Inner Mongolia.

21:00 Board train to Huhhot, capital of Inner Mongolia (9 ½ hours)
Arrive in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia. Literally the ‘Green City’ in Mongolian, the city dates back to the Ming Dynasty and is at least 400 years old. Today, Hohhot is a major textile center and transport hub for travelers departing for the grasslands or desert plains.
Travel by bus to the famous Huitengxile Grasslands. Here you will experience the nomadic Mongolian lifestyle. Walk in the scenic grasslands as daily Mongolian life enfolds before you. Watch the Mongolians perform their horse riding, rodeo, archery, saber-fighting and horseback acrobatics. Learn how they live as you visit a herdsman’s home and meet his family. Observe the religious offering places, Aobaos used for sacred offerings.
Taste the local cuisine from barbecue lamb, boiled mutton to sour milk. Enjoy the Mongolian welcome performance as the traditional dancers and musicians entertain you with their folk songs and dance. Stay overnight in a traditional Mongolian yurt. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Watch the sunrise in the early morning. After breakfast, participate in activities from horse riding, archery, and Mongolian wrestling, or just enjoy the natural beauty of the grasslands. After lunch, travel to one of the greatest deserts in Inner Mongolia – Kubuqi Desert.
Take in this breathtaking scenery - an ocean of sand with a feeling of isolation and sense of space. Desert activities include sightseeing, camel riding, sand sliding, desert walks, listening to the resonant sound of the sand and experiencing the culture and customs of the Ordos minority.
